Africa.
Pretoria — The Department of Home Affairs says it is delighted by the
positive response on the part of the South African voters who seized
the opportunity to go and collect their Identity Documents.
Sibongile* has become unemployed and her accounts have been
deactivated. "My life is on hold," she says. Sibongile, who came to
Cape Town from Zimbabwe in 2009, has been unable to get a special
permit from the Department of Home Affairs which would allow her to
work and bank.
Windhoek – Children born by non-Namibian parents, who are on temporary
residence permits, will no longer be allowed to register as Namibian
citizens unless both parents are permanent residents in the country,
