HOME Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba has lashed out at two other
government departments for contradicting his department on the
contentious Border Management Authority Bill.

The Department of Home Affairs on Tuesday withdrew its appeal in the
Supreme Court of Appeal concerning the case of an eight-year-old
stateless child who was born in South Africa to Cuban parents.
Couples planning to get married this spring may be forced to postpone
their wedding ceremonies, as the department of home affairs is
experiencing a countrywide shortage of marriage registers.
THE almost 200 000 Zimbabweans currently on permits issued under the
Zimbabwean Special Permit (ZSP) project have to seek alternative
permits if they wish to extend their work, study or stay in South
Africa beyond 2017, Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba said on Wednesday.
A FISH Hoek woman, born in Denmark but married to a South African,
fears police might deport her because the Department of Home Affairs
bungled her application for permanent residency.
A recent report published by the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees claims that there are more than a million asylum seekers in
South Africa, and that the country is home to the highest number of
unresolved asylum cases in the world. But the figure is based on a
flawed reading of the available data.
JOHANNESBURG - The Home Affairs Department says its new automated
asylum application system will relieve the pressure on officials and
foreign nationals seeking assistance.
The requirements for entering South Africa differ from country to
country and, as many parents coming into the country recently
discovered, are subject to change from time to time. SA
