Dear Honorable Minister Malusi Gigaba,
We note with concern your pronouncements reported by Reuters news
agency on Friday, 11 November stating that there are militant
"sleeper" cells in South Africa. We note that you have not provided
any proof to justify your statements, and have alluded to increased
securitisation and surveillance of Muslim communities as a result.

A workshop was held in Johannesburg recently to come up with a
solution to ease visa restrictions on students from SADC countries,
which requires them to be members of a South African medical aid for
the duration of their studies.

given a reprieve by the Department of Home Affairs and will not be
declared undesirable persons following a blanket extension of their
study visas to March 31‚ 2017.
Pretoria â€" Tourism remains key to South Africa’s economic development
strategy and the substantial growth in tourist arrivals is testament
to how dedication to marketing ‘destination SA’ is paying off.
