This follows a directive by Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi stating that the six-month extension of the Zimbabwean Exemption Permits (ZEP) would be the last extension, bringing the ZEPs to an end come June 30.According to the “Country Report South Africa: Complementary pathways and the Zimbabwean Dispensation Project” authored by UCT associate professor Dr Fatima Khan and UCT’s refugee rights unit, this will impact 178000 holders of the temporary protection permit. The permits were due to expire on December 31, 2022, prior to the extension granted.The ZEPs were the government’s temporary response to the large numbers of Zimbabweans entering the country from 2008 due to economic and political precarity, placing strain on the asylum-seeker system.

The Canadian government has updated its Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025, showing that the country is desperate to draw skilled workers from other countries to its shores. Canada made an announcement in October 2020 that it would seek to welcome over 400,000 new immigrants per year moving forward, or about 40,000 more per year than its previous targets. The revised outlook for 2022-2024 showed that the country expected to draw 430,000 new immigrants each year. In the 2023-2025 update delivered on Tuesday (1 November), this target has been pushed to 500,000 new immigrants by 2025. It expects to welcome 435,000 immigrants in 2022.

The short answer Yes because you do not have to live together. There is no minimum period of marriage either The whole question I am a US citizen, and have just married my South African partner, in South Africa. In one of your previous answers, you said that to apply for a life partner visa you need to live together for two years. My husband and I live in separate countries but I want to emigrate to SA to live with him.

Are foreign nursing diplomas valid in South Africa? The short answer It depends. The South African Nursing Council will recognize your qualification if it meets certain criteria. Many South Africans are being stripped of their South African citizenship when they voluntarily obtain citizenship in a second country. Gary Moore, a Senior Researcher at the Free Market Foundation, said that thousands of South Africans are having their citizenship stripped, with many, if not most, not knowing. Moore looked at a 2021 application made to the Pretoria High Court for an order to declare Section 6(1) of the Citizenship Act constitutionally invalid. Section 6(1) states that South Africans will automatically lose their citizenship if they voluntarily obtain citizenship of another country a continuation of apartheid law. However, the South African Constitution states that no citizen may be deprived of citizenship.

Apply for eVisa The South African eVisa for Ethiopians is now live. Ethiopia is one of 14 countries whose citizens can get a visa for South Africa online. The electronic visa was launched in February 2022. The new eVisa makes it easier to travel from Ethiopia to South Africa. • Statistics SA released data for foreign tourist arrivals, enabling a picture for the whole of 2022. • In December 2022, South Africa only received 69% of the foreign visitors it had in December 2019, before the pandemic. • In 2022, total foreign arrivals were at 70% of 2019 levels, overseas arrivals at only 60% of 2019 levels, and arrivals from other African countries at 73% of 2019 levels. While foreign visitors to South Africa in December 2022 increased significantly since the previous year, the number is still at only 69% of visitors in December 2019 - before the pandemic. This is according to data on arrivals in December 2022 that was released by Statistics SA on Tuesday. Looking at data for the entire year, the only source market that exceeded its 2019 level in 2022 was Russia. Compared to 2019, arrivals from Russia in 2022 jumped to 107%.

(Alyssa Powell/Insider) • China`s National Bureau of Statistics announced that its population shrank in 2022 by roughly 850,000 people. • Strong growth in its working-age population over the past several decades allowed China to become the world`s factory. • Fewer children and fewer immigrants means fewer workers in the long term. The country`s shrinking population is a grim omen for the rest of the world. China`s population is shrinking. While the massive country is still home to 1.4 billion people` nearly one out of every five people on Earth China`s National Bureau of Statistics announced that its population shrank in 2022, falling by roughly 850,000 people.
