International was created out of the need for a
specialist organization to assist people wishing to immigrate,
volunteer, work, bring family, study or open businesses in South
Africa.
The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has granted an additional concession to foreign nationals whose applications for waivers, long-term visas, and appeals are still pending as of November 30, 2023, due to the ongoing backlog of applications.
Specifically, the DHA will now allow individuals applying for these items and those who seek to abandon their applications to depart and re-enter South Africa, whereas normally they would not be readmitted for having overstayed in the country.
The Department of Employment and Labour listed the critical professions affected the most by skills shortages in South Africa and, therefore, benefitting the most from skilled foreigners.
This was revealed in a recent parliamentary Q&A, in which the Minister of Employment and Labour â€` Thulas Nxesi â€` was asked whether there are any critical skills that he has identified as skills the Republic seeks to benefit from migrants.
In response, the minister said that the Republic of South Africa, like all other countries worldwide, experiences scarce and critical skills in those job types where employers cannot find suitably qualified or experienced employees.
Demand for property in Cape Town is booming as tourists return, foreigners buy local property, and South Africans emigrate from the country’s northern regions.
This is feedback from Pam Golding CEO, Dr Andrew Golding, who said they are seeing a significant increase in demand from tourists and South Africans wanting to semigrate to the Cape.
Aside from increased demand for tourism, Cape Town is also benefiting from a surge in semigration from various regions, generally to the north of the country.
Cardo, Dr MJ to ask the Minister of Home Affairs
`What are the relevant details that his department has for all eVisas (a) applied for and (b) issued for each country eligible for the eVisa regime for the period 1 January to 30 October 2023?`
South Africa’s home affairs minister signed planned changes to work permit regulations aimed at fixing a bureaucratic morass that’s frustrating the country’s biggest investors and exacerbating a skills crisis, people familiar with the situation said.
Now that the changes have been signed by Aaron Motsoaledi, they’ll be gazetted in the coming days and released for public comment, the people said, asking not to be identified as the decision hasn’t been made public. The changes may include a range of measures suggested by a government study, including the creation of a remote worker visa category. SA
