Catch spelling wake-up, Sarf Arfican commies!

Source: by The Insider, - Business Day, 08/10/2015

THERE are times when the Insider wants to grab the shoulders of some
e-mails` authors with her fire-engine-red talons and give them a good
shaking.

The latest potential victim of this urge is the South African
Communist Party, which really should take a few minutes to run a spell
check through its news releases.

When you can`t even see the glaring error in your own name, then
clearly the red mist has descended in your rush to release your
thoughts, particularly if it`s a "STATEMENT OF THE SOUTH ARFICAN
COMMUNIST PARTY".

Bank on Home Affairs jam
WE ALL know that the banks would rather that you never went anywhere
near a branch, but the traditional method to keep you out has been to
only open at 12pm for five minutes every last Thursday of the month or
charge you a king`s ransom every time you interact with one of their
oh-so-precious members of staff.

This isn`t really working because people still manage to find the time
to get the day off work and go to their nearest branch, take a number,
stand in line and then repeat the process all over again because
they`ve gone to the wrong counter.

It`s a bit like going to the Department of Home Affairs.

And it seems that has given the banks an idea — become the Department
of Home Affairs. Yes, that`s right. As you may have read, banks in SA
have begun to accept applications for smart ID cards and will soon
also handle the processing of passport applications.

So you may want to rethink going into a branch of your bank ever again
because the queues will now include all the people who have given up
going to Home Affairs to queue.

Wise words
"A BANK is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and
ask for it back when it begins to rain."

Robert Frost, US poet (1874-1963).

More wise words
"BANKING was conceived in iniquity and born in sin."
Josiah Stamp, English industrialist, economist, public servant,
statistician, writer, and banker (1880-1941).

Even more wise words
"RETAIL banking in Africa is very weak. You can`t … get money from an
ATM or visit a branch of the bank. So people have to use the internet."
Mo Ibrahim, Sudanese-British entrepreneur (born 1946)
