The 26 Schengen states include
Austria, Belgium, Czech republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.
If you intend to travel to these states you will need to get one visa for all the states you will be visiting however you need to keep in mind that all states have different requirements.
Which consulate must I apply with?
If you are only visiting one of the Schengen states then you must apply with that country’s consulate in South Africa. If you are visiting numerous countries within the Schengen area, then you must apply for a Schengen visit visa with the consulate of the country of your point of first entry or, if you have one country as your main destination where you will be spending most of your time, you should apply with that consulate.
