Is the US turning a corner?

Source: Tourism Update, 09/11/2015

While tourist arrivals from the US continue to drop, the latest
arrivals suggest the decline has slowed.

Tourist arrivals from the US were down only 1% year on year for the
month of July, compared with a 7% decline for the first seven months
of the year, suggesting that the decline from SA`s second-largest
market has slowed.

This is according to the latest arrival stats published last week by
Statistics South Africa.

The July figures are an improvement on the figures for the first half
of the year, where arrivals from the US were down 8%. It is also a
significant improvement on June, which showed a 10% drop year on
year.

For the first seven months of the year, SA saw 166 759 arrivals from
the US, compared with 178 728 for the same period last year.
