NCWALA WARNING FOR BARS, SHOPS
27/12/2015 The Times – Swailand

MBABANE – Government has once again reminded business, including those
that sell alcohol to the public, to close down for at least six hours
tomorrow.

Establishments that defy this warning face a E5 000 fine. The ministry
issued a statement on Thursday, requesting the trade and liquor
business establishments to respect the Incwala holiday. The holiday
will be tomorrow, as confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday.

Anthony Masilela, Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Home
Affairs, said the holiday was published in a gazette by government
this week. He said the holiday meant those who wished, were free to
attend the main Incwala event at Ludzidzini Royal Residence.

Interestingly, the Incwala holiday to mark the end of the year 2014
was on Thursday, January 8, 2015. This means that this calendar year,
the country will see two days set aside to celebrate the Incwala.

Yesterday, thousands of enthusiastic members of the Ingatja regiment
delivered the sacred Lusekwane (sickle bush) at the Ludzidzini Royal
Residence.

"All business owners are advised to respect the Shop Trading Hours Act
no.

8 of 2011, which declares the restricted trading day,
which is Incwala day, to make sure that their businesses open in the
morning and close at noon," reads part of a statement from the
Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade. "Those businesses which wish
to continue operating may open again at 6pm," it further read.
