South Africa: Former Immigration Officer Found Guilty of Corruption

He accepted a bribe to an amount of R400-00 in exchange for
authorising the passport of a Zimbabwean Foreign National while she
was in custody for an unrelated case.
He pleaded guilty under Section 105A of Criminal Procedure Act 51 of
1977 and he was fined R20 000 to which he paid R4000 while the rest
will be settled with payment agreement. Additionally, he was fined
another R20 000 suspended for five years on condition that he does not
commit similar offences.
