How does one apply for ECSA?

The process of applying for ECSA is an extremely lengthy one, which is simplified into two steps:
1. The ECSA will perform a background check on the candidate; this will consist of verification of previous employers as well as a thorough evaluation of the candidateâ€™s education background. The ECSA will provide you with a designation, for example â€œCivil Engineerâ€. The background check and designation can take up to six months.
2. The ECSA application will be reviewed by a senior engineer, holding a Doctorate, who is part of the ECSA who will contact the candidate directly to set up an interview. This process can take another six months.
